Overview

In 1992, Peak Winbush (a.k.a. Lapekas Mayfield) of Los Angeles, California coined the phrase, "Spiritual Religious Gangbanging" or "Religious Gangbanging" for short. Peak introduced the phrase during a telephone conference on The Front Page, a radio talk show on KJLH Radio Station in Los Angeles. He used the phrase to refer to the incohesiveness of faith-based organizations.

This phrase has now become popular in the Los Angeles area among community activists. What is "Spiritual Religous Gangbanging"? In his blog, Peak, the phrase's creator, shares his definition and his thoughts on this subject.
